SUGAR CANE CULTIVATION

Sugar Cane Cultivation

The cultivation of sugar cane is a practice that is growing day by day due to the amount of benefits that this brings.

Sugarcane is a plant from Southeast Asia. It arrived to the European continent, more particularly to the coastal area between the cities of Malaga and Motril, this strip being the only area in Europe where it took root. Later the Spaniards brought the plant, first to the Canary Islands, and then to America. The culture was grown in countries such as Cuba, Guatemala, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela Colombia2, which are among the largest producers of sugar in the world.
