ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

We are going to talk about the most specifict points of the cons of the sugar cane production.

We also want to give some solutions to change that impact or try to reduce the negative effects

One of the problems is the lack of commitment of the government and the companies producing sugarCane which allow burning facility to cut and remove

Environment problems in the sugar cane corps

1. Water in corps
2. Chemical products in corps
3. Burning  sugarcane

For us the first problem was the water issues

A. The cane requires 3 – 10 cm3 of washing water for every tone of sugar.

B. Excessive use of groundwater, when the pumping is cheap, and pass the
capacity of the groundwater recharge.

C. while more water is used for the sugar cane  plantations, needed more energy to refine the sugar.

In conclusion, the production of sugar cane is good for us, containing nutrients,  nutrients that we consume through products as sugar, delicious sweets, coffee, etc. However, for the environment, (^) is a bad thing, why? Because we knowhow to use this natural resource advantages that they give us, but we forgetabout the other natural resources that are so important to productivity, such aswater and soil.

EXPORT AND IMPORT

EXPORT OF SUGAR CANE FROM  COLOMBIA

Sugarcane is an important product in Colombia because through exports derived from sugarcane, Colombia gets good income. Colombia is one of the main producers of sugarcane and one of the biggest exporters of sugar cane derivatives in the world.

authors:
Laura Marcela pino

OUR OBJECTIVES ARE…

1. Investigate the main exporting and importing countries of Sugarcane.
2. Analyze the dynamic of export of Sugarcane in Colombia during the last 5 years.
3. Analyze where  our company can export  Sugarcane.

THE LEGAL PROCESS TO EXPORT THE SUGAR CANE PRODUCTS:
This process should be done with the DIAN because this is the regulatory company.

The steps are :

Presentation and acceptance of the application for shipment
Final destination of the goods
Transport mode
Place where you will perform the inspection of the goods

When the Dian authorizes the shipment, we can export our products.

COMPANIES TO EXPORT:

1. Sugar
2.    2. Sugar Cane Juice

SUCA INC  is going to export sugar cane juice to the company  NORTH SHORE BOTTLING. This is a great company that sells drinks

IBERIA is a excellent company to export sugar. It is important to keep a good relation with this company.

PLACES WHERE SUGARCANE IS PRODUCED

MAIN EXPORTING COUNTRIES OF SUGARCANE IN THE WORLD

MAIN IMPORTING COUNTRIES OF SUGARCANE IN THE WORLD

COLOMBIA PRODUCER AND EXPORTER OF SUGAR CANE.

The production of sugar cane is located in the geographical Valle del Cauca, with exceptional geographical and environmental conditions for the production and continual harvest throughout the year. Technological advances have lowered the harvest period of 15 to 12 months and established plantings. Planting may occur during five periods. Colombia has the world record for sugar yields per hectare.

IMPORTS AND EXPORTS OF SUGAR IN COLOMBIA

This graph shows the summary of sugar production, imports and exports in metric tons.

DYNAMICS OF EXPORT OF DERIVATIVES OF SUGARCANE DURING THE LAST 5 YEARS IN COLOMBIA

WHERE  DOES OUR COMPANY CAN EXPORT  SUGARCANE?

Our company will export derivatives from sugarcane to United States because through TLC there are benefits for Colombians to lower tariffs, thus, we can increase sales to EEUU.

CONCLUSION

Colombia to be one of the biggest producers of sugarcane in the world is beneficial to have trade agreements with other countries to export sugar cane derivatives. An example of a trade agreement is the TLC between Colombia and the USA which benefits exports related with sugarcane because it reduces tariffs , thus,  increase exports of these products to the USA.

The best country to export  sugar cane is USA because:
It is a country that report  high intakes of sugar cane .
The sugarcane production In this country is very low .
There is a free trade agreement.
With this country it is easier to export because  there aren´t tariffs.

transport

The best way to transport sugar cane is by sea. It is cheaper; the value for one ton is $ 30 and by air the price per ton is $120.  By sea it generates lower costs to the company  SUCA INC.

LOGISTIC OF SUGARCANE

LOGISTIC OF SUGARCANE IN CALI

To have the most efficient process in the logistic of the sugar cane in Cali using products of the best  quality, in the logistic of the sugar cane that we need.

MAIN OBJECTIVE

To design a logistics plan for a company of sugarcane to provide the necessary timely production, in the amounts required and to respond to the demand ensuring the optimization of resources.

THE GROUND SUGAR-CANE
The field chosen was the one located in the via Cali-Jamundí, because it has a flat terrain, with  proper ventilation, with a large holding capacity of water, and it also has a good route of transportation of sugarcane to potential external clients.

LABORERS
Initially, in the areas for planting sugar cane, the industry will need 50 workers distributed throughout the area of cultivation and distribution of sugar cane, meeting different process and also it will create jobs for people in neighboring areas.

STEPS FOR PLANTING SUGAR CANE

THE CARS
For the distribution of sugarcane, we will use a system of connected carts , to bring the cane on the railways to the factory. We will have four cars.

THE CLIENTS

• Look for industries that require our products, visit them and offer them our service portfolio.
• Develop and disseminate different advertising media (TV, radio, newspaper, flyers, etc).
• Ensuring that our product is of the highest quality to ensure the requirements and to meet the needs of our clients.
• Serve our clients in a timely manner, providing the best services and responding to their concerns as quickly as possible.

MACHINERY AND PROCESSES

Machinery and equipment in Sugarcane Process

The sugar cane is one of the most popular products in our region. It's the most important economic activity in the Valle del Cauca, for this reason our company will use the best technology and equipment to process this resource.
Our main objective is to optimize the most important processes, these are: planting, recollecting, processing, and distribution. Using the best technology available currently.

STEPS:
1.Search the equipment used in the standard process for recollection.
2.Select the automated equipment for the recollection process.

3.Write the benefits generated by the acquisition of machines and employees

SUGAR CANE PROCESS
The transformation of the sugar cane is made by the following stages:
We will concentrate on the main process, they are: Automatic cutting,
clarification and evaporation. The uses of the bagasse are important  but we
won’t talk about them.

SUGAR CANE CUTTING
This process is very important because if it is optimized we can approach more
potential of the sugar cane. There are two ways to cut the sugar cane and these
are: Manual and automatic.

We can find advantages and disadvantages between the cutting ways, here we have some:

SUGAR CANE CLARIFICATION

After the cutting process the following step is the crushing process in which the
sugar cane juice is extracted. The next step is the clarification.

A process to clarify raw sugar cane juice, which comprises adding a source of
lime, adding an anionic inorganic colloid, and separating of the resulting sugar
cane juice.

MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT IN SUGARCANE PROCESS
The sugar cane is one of the most popular products in our region. It's the most important economic activity in the Valle del Cauca, for this reason our company will use the best technology and equipment to process this resource.

MAIN OBJECTIVE

Our main objective is to optimize the most important processes, these are: planting, recollecting, processing, and distribution. Using the best technology available currently.

In order to concentrate the clarified juice in the plant machinery it is processed for vacuum evaporation to remove most of the water.

In this process, multiple vacuum-boiling cells are arranged in series so that each succeeding cell has a higher vacuum. The vapors from one body can thus boil the juice in the next step.
